Hip Bone

What does wearing an SI belt do?

1. Symptoms

Are you tired of experiencing pain? Most types of pain, including lower back pain, back pain, hip pain, neck pain, knee pain, joint weakness, such as torn ACL or torn meniscus, and ligament instability, come from a misalignment in our pelvis. One may notice weak abs, thighs, and glutes while having tight lumbar erectors and lower back muscles.

2. Causes

Our hips are the foundation of our body. When off-centered, the causes are an Anterior pelvic tilt which is a forward rotation of the hips, also known as Sacral Base Positive. In the opposing position, the hips can be off-centered in a Superior Posterior tilt, a backward rotation of the hips. Both these causes create a lower cross syndrome, where the back, abs, glutes, thighs, and knees weaken due to the tightness of the lower back. Causes of disruption may be hereditary, from prolonged sitting or standing, overworking, and pregnancy.

3. Why to Wear an SI Belt

Wearing the Fun and Easy Sacro Iliac Belt supports all aspects of the pelvis by sustaining the sacrum and sacral ligaments. The sacroiliac belt is known to help stabilize the Posterior Superior Iliac Spine (PSIS) and the Anterior Superior Iliac Spine (ASIS). Results include straight posture, tight abs, secured glutes, firm thighs, mental clarity, and reduced to little or no pain.

4. How to Wear an SI Belt

How to properly wear a Sacroiliac (SI) Belt is essential:

  1. Place the belt on your lower hips. The belt level should be down on your sacrum (your sits bone), not at the lower back.

  2. Fasten the single/lower strap around the pelvis.

  3. Tighten both top/side straps until drawn but still comfortable.

Wear the belt under or over clothes, day or night, for men or women.

5. How Long to Wear an SI Belt

How long to wear an SI belt depends on the person and situation. When in doubt, always ask your doctor first. Some may use the SI Belt for injury prevention, recovery, pain management, or a combination. Many people wear the hip belt for 15-20 minutes daily. Others wear it in increments throughout the day, and some wear it day and night, especially during sleep.

6. Results

Results vary upon straight posture, tight abs, secured glutes, firm thighs, mental clarity, and reduced to little or no pain.
